Best Mic Covers for Rode PodMic, Shure SM7B, Blue Yeti & SM58 (UK Compatibility Guide)
Stock windscreens fit "most" mics. Custom covers should fit *your* mic. Here's our fitment table for the four most popular podcast and streaming microphones.
"Will this cover fit my mic?" is by far the most common question in our inbox. Stock windscreens are designed to fit "most" microphones — which usually means they're too loose on some and too tight on others. A custom cover should fit your mic perfectly.
Here's the fit guide for the four most popular podcast and streaming microphones, with our recommendation for each. Numbers are real measurements — we test-fit every batch before printing.
Rode PodMic
- Capsule diameter: 52mm
- Stock windscreen: 60mm generic foam (too loose, wobbles)
- Our cover: 52mm bore, 12mm wall foam
- Style: Cylindrical, 75mm tall
- Print area: ~140mm × 75mm (full wraparound)
The PodMic is built like a tank, designed specifically for podcast use, and looks great with a custom cover. Because of its broadcast styling (bronze grille, weighted body), it pairs best with warm-toned covers — burgundy, deep navy, hunter green — rather than pure black.
The 52mm specific fitment is the single most-asked detail. Generic 60mm windscreens slip around when you adjust the mic, which makes the print rotate off-camera mid-recording. Ours grip without compressing the capsule.

Shure SM7B
- Capsule diameter: 60mm
- Stock windscreen: A2WS (round, too small for full-face branding)
- Our cover: 60mm bore, full-face cylindrical foam
- Style: Cylindrical, 80mm tall
- Print area: ~190mm × 80mm
The SM7B is the most-used podcast microphone on the planet (Joe Rogan, Smartless, Theo Von, almost every premium show). The stock A2WS windscreen is undersized — it covers only the front capsule, leaving the iconic SM7B yoke exposed. Our full-foam cover wraps the entire mic head, giving you a generous 360° print area.
Pro tip: SM7B is heavy. Avoid super-dark covers if you're filming in a dim studio — they read as a black blob on camera. Light or saturated colours give the mic shape against a dark background.

Blue Yeti
- Capsule diameter: 110mm (it's a huge cardioid)
- Stock windscreen: None included
- Our cover: 110mm bore, oversized cylindrical foam
- Style: Cylindrical, 95mm tall
- Print area: ~340mm × 95mm
The Yeti is the most popular streamer/Twitch mic, and it's an absolute monster. The diameter is double a standard handheld mic. Most generic windscreens just don't go this big.
Our Yeti cover is custom-cut to fit the full capsule body. The huge print area means you can do detailed logos that simply won't fit on a podcast mic. We've printed full character art, gradient backgrounds, even foiled glitter prints for streamers who want maximum impact on stream.
The Yeti's silver-tube design pairs well with bold, high-contrast covers — neon green, bright purple, electric blue. Save subtlety for SM7B; the Yeti rewards loud.

Shure SM58
- Capsule diameter: 50mm (ball)
- Stock windscreen: A2WS (round, fits but minimal print area)
- Our cover: 50mm bore, half-ball or full-ball foam
- Style: Ball, 50mm tall
- Print area: ~157mm × 50mm
The SM58 is the world's most-used handheld vocal mic — every live venue, every press conference, every karaoke night. Its compact ball is also the smallest of the four mics here, which means the smallest print area. Plan accordingly.
For SM58 use cases (live music, comedy, news), you usually want a more substantial mic flag in addition to the foam cover. The flag gives you the bigger logo area for camera, while the foam keeps the print on-mic in close-up.
