Why a foam cover is the cheapest visual upgrade you can make

• It's the only part of the mic that's always in shot. The cable is usually hidden. The stand is below the speaker. The body of the mic is gripped or stand-mounted. The foam is always centred on screen.

What mics does it actually fit?

Designed for the Shure SM58 — the most-used handheld vocal mic in the UK by an order of magnitude. It also fits the SM58S, SM48, Beta 58A (snug), AKG D5, Sennheiser e835 / e845, Audio-Technica AE6100, and most equivalent ball-grille handheld vocal mics. If your mic has a roughly spherical wire-mesh ball at the head, this cover will fit. For unusual or vintage mics (RE20, MD421, Heil PR40 etc.) we have dedicated listings — message us if you're unsure.

What you can print on it

Anything: full-colour logo, business name, wedding hashtag, monogram, sponsor lockup, charity emblem, or a custom illustration. Send a vector (SVG, AI) if you have one — high-res PNG is fine too. We email you a free mockup before printing so you can approve the position, colour, and crop. The print itself is sublimated into the foam fibres, so it doesn't peel or crack with handling. UV exposure (sitting in a sunny window for months) is the only thing that will gradually dull the colour.

Acoustic transparency preserved

The foam is matched to broadcast-standard windscreen density — it adds protection from plosives and breath noise without changing how the mic sounds. Slips on over the existing mic grille; the OEM windscreen underneath continues to do its job. The print is applied to the outer surface only and doesn't affect the acoustic path.

Durability and care

These covers are made for daily and weekly venue use. They survive being passed between hands during speeches, tossed in mic cases, gripped by sweaty performers, and the general abuse of live events. Spot-clean with a damp cloth between events; avoid soaking or machine-washing. Most clients report their cover still looks new 2-3 years in.

Will it fit any vocal mic?

It fits any handheld vocal mic with a roughly spherical wire-mesh ball-grille head. SM58, AKG D5, Sennheiser e835, Beta 58A, etc. For non-standard mic heads (e.g. shotgun mics, lavaliers, broadcast condensers), we have dedicated listings — message us with the model and we'll point you at the right one.

Can I have different text on each side?

Yes. Front: church name. Back: denomination. Or front: wedding initials. Back: date. £0 extra for asymmetric artwork — just send both designs.

How fast for a wedding / event date?

2-3 working days standard. For tighter deadlines: London same-day collection if ordered before 11am, or next-day UK courier available for £12.50. For a fixed event date, order 2-3 weeks ahead to be safe.
