Cookie Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember who you are between pages (for example, keeping items in your shopping cart) and help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We also use similar technologies such as browser localStorage for the same purposes; this policy covers those too.
This policy explains what cookies itwheel.co.uk (operated by IT Wheel Ltd) sets, why, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Essential cookies (always on)
These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in and remembers your shopping cart as you move between pages. | 2 hours |
| XSRF token | Security — protects forms (checkout, contact, login) from cross-site request forgery. | 2 hours |
| Cloudflare cookies | Set by our security and delivery network to distinguish genuine visitors from malicious traffic. | Up to 30 minutes |
2.2 Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site (which pages
are popular, where visitors come from, roughly where in the world they are). The data we receive is
aggregated and does not directly identify you. Google's cookies (_ga and similar) typically
last up to 2 years. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
2.3 Marketing cookies
Where used, marketing cookies (such as the Meta/Facebook Pixel) help us measure whether our advertising works and show more relevant ads. These cookies may be set by third parties and are subject to those providers' own policies.
2.4 Functional localStorage
We store small preferences in your browser's localStorage — for example, which products you recently viewed (so we can show them to you again), and whether you have dismissed a promotional message (so we don't show it repeatedly). This data never leaves your browser except where described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Third-party services
When you pay, Stripe (our payment processor) may set its own cookies for fraud prevention — see Stripe's Privacy Policy. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, those providers may also set cookies under their own policies.
4. How to control cookies
- Browser settings: every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies (usually under Settings → Privacy). Blocking essential cookies will prevent the cart and checkout from working.
- Analytics opt-out: use the Google add-on linked above.
- Private/incognito browsing: cookies set during a private session are deleted when you close the window.
5. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the "last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Questions? Email us at [email protected] or write to IT Wheel Ltd, 18 Spelman Street, London E1 5LQ.
